Taonga Pūoro

As a member of Haumanu, he has dedicated himself to reviving and teaching the art of Taonga Pūoro, performing and conducting workshops nationwide and abroad.
Karetao / Puppets
James has also contributed to the revival of karetao, traditional Māori puppets. His Karetao Pūoro (Singing Māori Puppets) project combines puppetry with the enchanting sounds of Taonga Pūoro, creating performances that captivate audiences and breathe new life into these cultural treasures.
